Lived-in - aka battered - stuff is relaxing. Also I like useful objects that don't rely on electricity. So pestles and mortars, winder coffee grinders, the old fashioned bolt-to-the-edge-of-the-table mincing machines are far more comfortable to use than the modern glitzy breakable plastic things.
